In Camera clicks again for Scenic
Scenic sired 72 stakes winners during a successful stud career and he’s well on the way to equalling that figure as a broodmare sire.
His youngest broodmares are only seven year-olds and they have foaled 37 stakes winners to date including young sires Nicconi (Widden), Von Costa de Hero (Darley) and WA based Demerit (Taunton Vale).
His old home-base at Scenic Lodge in Muchea also stands his stakes winning son Universal Ruler whose first crop two year-olds are due out in 2013-14.
Few of his daughters have been as successful as In Camera. A Eureka Stud bred mare, she was initially owned by Colin Hayes and foaled 10 winners from 12 to race.
No stranger to the sale ring, In Camera changed hands for the last time at the 2006 Magic Millions National Sale for $5,750. She was in foal to Clang and was purchased by Banchory Stud’s Richard and Mary Lee Trivett.
Her 10th winner arrived when Banchory Lass caused an upset in the Coke Zero Maiden Plate (1400m) at Eagle Farm last month. The Sequalo filly is trained by Barry Baldwin for a syndicate managed by the Trivetts.
Banchory Lass is the last foal from In Camera. The mare died aged 20 in August 2011.
Her 10 winners have been Judge’s Chamber (Fraar), Wide Angle (Euclase), Fashion Shoot (Jeune), Caught Posing (Jeune), She General (General Monash), Paymore (Fasliyev), Inprivato (Spinning World), Media Tart (Clang), Strike A Pose (Seidnazar) and Banchory Lass (Sequalo).
