It’s an amazing achievement for Blackfriars to win the title again this year especially when you consider his last ever crop he sired have just turned 4 years of age.
With Scenic claiming 9 straight premierships and Blackfriars now winning 12 it gives Scenic Lodge the incredible achievement of standing the champion WA sire for 21 years in a row.
Blackfriars will be remembered as one of the greatest stallions to have ever stood in WA. To have stood Blackfriars after a champion sire like Scenic, has been an incredible privilege. Ironically it looks like Blackfriars son in Playing God and Scenic’s son in Universal Ruler (who stands at ScenicLodge) look like the next couple of sires that could take over from Blackfriars and challenge for the premiership in the future.
